Decision-Making Style, Leisure Activities, and Video Games

How are our leisure habits, particularly video games, related to our cognitive, emotional, and psychological well-being?

Welcome to the study “Decision-Making Styles, Leisure Activities, and Video Gaming”

Thank you for your interest in this research project.

This study aims to better understand how leisure habits, motivations for playing, and video game playing styles are associated with cognitive and psychological functioning. More specifically, we seek to document the relationships between leisure and gaming practices, cognitive styles, emotional regulation, and several dimensions of daily life, such as well-being, sleep, and resilience. Your responses will help our research team better understand the differential effects of video games on mental and emotional processes. In the long term, these findings may contribute to the development of prevention programs or cognitive training interventions based on video games.

This knowledge will help improve our understanding of the effects of video games on human cognition and identify game types associated with potential benefits or risks for mental health.
